TIRRC: lawbreaking families should reunite in Tennessee

The Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) says amnesty is “family reunification” and illegal immigrants are only “undocumented.” TIRRC, like most leftist groups trying to turn Tennessee a color other than red, is forced to work by deceit because law-abiding Tennesseans are very hard to fool.

TIRRC logo

Regardless of TIRRC’s euphemistic labels, the people they endorse, are lawbreakers. They are dishonest, having knowingly and intentionally broken the law to enter our country. There is no commitment to follow U.S. law like honest, hard-working, Tennessee taxpayers who are invested in their communities.

Three years ago in May 2013, Edwin Mejia, a 16-year old “unaccompanied alien child (UAC)” from Honduras, walked across the U.S. border. Federal refugee resettlement contractors take custody of minors like Edwin who enter the U.S. illegally. The contractor then releases the UAC to a U.S. based “sponsor” with little if any vetting of the sponsors. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), has the largest contract for these services, receiving $65.9 million in federal tax money to service the UACs in 2012.

Edwin was released to his brother Santos Jesus Romero-Mejia, also an illegal alien who was living in Madison, Tennessee. Actually, “80 percent of the the unaccompanied minors in its care to other illegal immigrants.”

By January 2016, Edwin was in Nebraska, where driving on a suspended license and very drunk and drag-racing, he killed a 21-year old woman who that same night had just graduated from college. The police requested that ICE issue a detainer that would have kept Edwin in jail. But ICE didn’t issue a detainer because Edwin’s “offense did ‘not constitute a crime of violence.’” So Edwin posted bond and was released.

He’s now on ICE’s most-wanted list for motor vehicle homicide, but authorities believe he has fled to his native Honduras.” Good job ICE, not.

In December 2016, TIRRC will will host the “We the People National Immigrant Integration Conference.” It will be held at the very expensive Omni Hotel in Nashville because they say that Nashville is “the fastest growing immigrant city in the United States, a leading ‘new gateway city’ and model for welcoming immigrants and refugees” (as engineered by social progressives and the establishment globalist right).

They will hold sessions promoting rights for illegal aliens like voting in municipal elections, “fighting criminalization,” and “comprehensive immigration reform,” the amnesty program being pushed by both the progressives and the establishment.

Their overarching goal? Turn a red state blue, but for now they’ll settle for purple, while their favored minority, the illegals, commit crimes against our citizens and escape punishment.

The Syndicate Behind Tennessee’s Immigrant and Refugee Propaganda Part 3

TIRRC and its allied organizations were heavily involved in establishing Metro Nashville Mayor’s Office of New Americans during Karl Dean’s administration. With Dean’s support, these same organizations helped develop “Nashville Next” the long-range plan to fully “transform” the city by 2040. The plan report was authored by Vanderbilt sociologist Dan Cornfield, whose wife is the Alinskyite ACLU Director Hedy Weinberg, also a TIRRC advisory board member.

These same organizations were in the newly elected Mayor Megan Barry’s transition team along with former Haslam appointee, Samar Ali. They remain active in her administration, working to socially engineer Nashville into the capitol of “The New South.”

TIRRC’s co-director, a former union organizer, Stephanie Teatro, says that just like in other sanctuary cities, the Nashville mayor’s endorsement of municipal IDs for illegal immigrants is a “forward thinking” (Democrat party) policy that would help illegal immigrants pass for legal residents. (illegal immigrants are often characterized as “residents”).

Stephanie Teatro
Stephanie Teatro

This is the same Stephanie Teatro, who last year testified in the state legislature in support of in-state tuition for the Obama DACA students.  The DACA program was just one of Obama’s administrative immigration end-runs around Congress.

Committee members were told that Teatro had “extensive knowledge about the DACA program.” But, she didn’t tell them that these students are illegal immigrants granted a temporary two year deferred deportation. She told them that DACA recipients have a “clean criminal background check.”  Did Teatro, the “expert” know that months prior to her testimony, DACA status was given to a known gang member who then committed multiple homicides and that an earlier ICE raid caught twenty-four DACA recipients who had criminal convictions?  Did the “expert” just conveniently forget to inform legislators about this gap in federal vetting?

signIn 2014, speaking from Casa Azafran where TIRRC and its allied organizations are headquartered, Obama talked about his New American Task Force and his end-run-around-the-Congress DACA program. He specifically recognized, David Lubell, TIRRC’s first director and creator ofWelcoming Tennessee/ Welcoming America” who also won an award from the National Council of La Raza awarded.

Welcoming America will judge how progressive your community is

Nashville is among the “Welcoming Cities” in Welcoming America’s (WA) network. Last year, Welcoming America paid the Nashville Chamber of Commerce for an economic report to support their story that legal and illegal immigrants are the hub of Nashville’s economic success. The Chamber’s report looks strangely just like the WA website, suggesting a WA templated product that will be replicated by Chambers in other “welcoming cities.”

The real agenda of groups like TIRRC and WA is to mutate our communities until they satisfy a leftist open-borders, one-world, globalist vision of an ideal society.

swearing

Notice which new Americans are not required to pledge allegiance to the U.S. flag.

A WA project underway allows a locale to become a WA officially designated, “certified welcoming community.” Will the certification criteria include telling new Americans that respect for our U.S. laws comes first before their beliefs?

TIRRC’s Teatro serves as a “content expert” on the certification project and a bureaucrat from the Nashville Mayor’s Office for New Americans serves on the project’s advisory board.

Cities like Nashville that willingly abandon their Music City heritage in favor of being called “Little Kurdistan,” will be rewarded well with money by the federal government’s plan called “Strengthening Communities by Welcoming All Residents* and from public-private enterprises like “Gateways for Growth.”

In 2015, WA’s David Lubell was given the Young Global Leader award by the World Economic Forum. He also works with the “Partnership for a New American Economy” (PNAE), a coalition of business leaders and mayors launched by Michael Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch to influence public opinion and policymakers toward amnesty for illegal immigrants.

PNAE will steer “Gateways for Growth” money to local governments, chambers of commerce and non-profit organizations for plans that favor legal and illegal immigrants over the U.S. native born work force. Technical assistance from WA’s “Welcoming Institute” will help create progressive, non-White, anti-Zionist and non-Christian, Southern communities. “The New South.”

Nashville has already been announced as one of the first 20 cities to receive this money.

The Syndicate Behind Tennessee’s Immigrant & Refugee Propaganda, part 1

TIRRC (TN Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition), was founded in 2001 by Philadelphia transplant David Lubell. Four years later he started the “Welcoming Tennessee” campaign followed by a smear-the-South propaganda film called “Welcome to Shelbyville.”

Also in 2001, the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) which was looking for new places to deliver refugees by “Building the New American Community” (BNAC). Nashville was chosen because of its economic growth and the rapid growth of foreign-born immigrants and refugees. ORR needed a willing partner and the Nashville Chamber of Commerce stepped up to take the ORR money. One of the core principles of the BNAC project was for the new Americans to become (Democrat) voters who could work to change their receiving communities.

Lubell left TIRRC in 2009 to start “Welcoming America” seeded with money from George Soros’ Open Society foundation’s Four Freedoms Fund. “Welcoming America” is now helping refugee resettlement agencies “tamp down pockets of resistance” to the globalist open borders agenda for the U.S.

Countering the Backlash, Strategies for Responding to Anti-Refugee and Xenophobic Activity from the New South” is TIRRC’s latest propaganda and contribution to tamping down resistance in Tennessee. It was produced by TIRRC’s current co-director Stephanie Teatro and former director Stephen Fotopulos. The piece was paid for by the J.M. Kaplan Fund that gave TIRRC $50,000 in 2009 funneled through the far left Migration Policy Institute, which J.M. Kaplan was also heavily funding. More on this report in later parts.

The J.M. Kaplan Fund (the Fund), has a long history of using its resources to support progressive social policies and extreme leftist organizations such as the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center and Casa de Maryland. The Fund employs a “Migration” Program Director and funds organizations like Welcoming America, HIAS (a refugee resettlement contractor), other state organizations like TIRRC and the Migration Policy Institute. They also fund the program “Global Detroit” – to repopulate Detroit using immigrants and refugees that have little choice about where they relocate.

Trying to misrepresent and disinform, TIRRC uses innuendo and accusations of prejudice, bigotry, racism and xenophobia. They claim that Tennessee is a national leader in opposing illegal and legal immigration. TIRRC wants to counter the Southern-rooted “backlash” being waged against persecuted “new Americans.”

TIRRC’s campaign has always been to cast illegal or legal immigrants (like refugees), as victims. These “victims” are vilified for speaking a different language or following a certain religion, and all suffer “backlash” from the ignoble immigrant-hating citizens.

TIRRC’s goal: create leftist voters and take down the South

TIRRC’s 2012 “Become a Citizen Now” campaign featured “new American” voters like Kurdish refugee and TIRRC community agitator Drost Kokoye who also helped start Tennessee’s American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) and the Muslim-centric American Center for Outreach (ACO).

Two years later, after TIRRC and its allied organizations co-opted the Haslam administration and several Republican state legislators, Kokoye’s message was:
